WHO IS ENOK?

 

Founded in the spring of 2011, ENoK (Emancipate North Koreans) is a non-profit organization registered with the Illinois Secretary of State Office.

 

ENoK is also a recognized student organization at the University of Chicago.

 

Mission

 

Their mission is to help North Korean refugees regain their rights to life and liberty, through means including but not limited to:

 

1. Raising awareness of human rights violations being committed in North Korea as well as the plight of North Korean defectors scattered across Asia.

 

2. Facilitating the adoption of North Korean and half-North Korean, half-Chinese children by prospective parents abroad

 

3. Helping North Korean defectors transition to life in America through support programs in life-skills training, job training, and academics

 

4. Breaking down prejudice and discrimination against North Korean defectors
